¹⁶ By this we have known love, that ^(A)He laid down His life for us; and ^(B)we ought to lay down our lives for the ^(C)brothers. ¹⁷ But ^(D)whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and ^(E)closes his ^[a]heart ^[b]against him, ^(F)how does the love of God abide in him? ^18 (G)Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and ^(H)truth.
