1 John 2:28-3:3
New American Standard Bible
28 Now, (A)little children, remain in Him, so that when He (B)appears, we may have (C)confidence and (D)not [a]draw back from Him in shame [b]at His (E)coming. 29 If you know that (F)He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness also (G)has been born of Him.
Children of God Love One Another
3 See [c](H)how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called (I)children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason the world does not know us: because (J)it did not know Him. 2 (K)Beloved, now we are (L)children of God, and (M)it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He (N)appears, we will be (O)like Him, because we will (P)see Him just as He is. 3 And everyone who has this (Q)hope set on Him (R)purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Children of God
28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. 29 If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that every one who does right is born of him.
3 See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God’s children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
