24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning(A) remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.(B) 25 And this is what he promised us—eternal life.(C)

26 I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.(D) 27 As for you, the anointing(E) you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things(F) and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.(G)

24 What you have heard from the beginning must abide in you. If what you have heard from the beginning abides in you, you will also abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 The message that the Son[a] himself declared to us is eternal life. 26 I have written[b] to you about those who are trying to deceive you. 27 The anointing you received from God[c] abides in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you this.[d] Instead, because God’s[e] anointing teaches you about everything and is true and not a lie, abide in him, as he taught you to do.[f]
