1 John 5:5-9
GOD’S WORD Translation
5 Who wins the victory over the world? Isn’t it the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 This Son of God is Jesus Christ, who came by water and blood. He didn’t come with water only, but with water and with blood. The Spirit is the one who verifies this, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 There are three witnesses: [a] 8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood. These three witnesses agree.
9 We accept human testimony. God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony that he has given about his Son.

5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.(A)
6 This is the one who came by water and blood(B)—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.(C) 7 For there are three(D) that testify: 8 the[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9 We accept human testimony,(E) but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God,(F) which he has given about his Son.
