1 Corinthians 8:9-13

⁹But take care ^(A)that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block ^(B)to the weak. ¹⁰For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating^[a] in an idol's temple, will he not be encouraged,^[b] if his conscience is weak, to eat food offered to idols? ¹¹And so by your knowledge this weak person is ^(C)destroyed, the brother for whom Christ died. ¹²Thus, sinning against your brothers^[c] and ^(D)wounding their conscience when it is weak, ^(E)you sin against Christ. ¹³Therefore, ^(F)if food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

⁹But ^(A)take care that this ^[a]freedom of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the ^(B)weak. ¹⁰For if someone sees you, the one who has ^(C)knowledge, dining in an idol’s temple, will his conscience, if he is weak, not be strengthened to eat ^(D)things sacrificed to idols? ¹¹For through ^(E)your knowledge the one who is weak ^(F)is ruined, the brother or sister for whose sake Christ died. ¹²^(G)And so, by sinning against the brothers and sisters and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin ^(H)against Christ. ¹³Therefore, ^(I)if food causes my brother to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to sin.
