7 However, not all men (A)have this knowledge; but (B)some, being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. 8 But (C)food will not [a]commend us to God. We neither lack if we do not eat, nor abound if we do eat.

Since some have become so accustomed to idols until now, they still think of the food they eat as food offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.(A) 8 “Food will not bring us close to God.”[a] We are no worse off if we do not eat and no better off if we do.(B)
