39 (A)A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband [a]dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only (B)in the Lord. 40 But (C)in my opinion she is [b]happier if she remains as she is; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.

39 A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, only in the Lord. 40 However, in my opinion she will be happier[a] if she stays as she is. And in saying this,[b] I think that I, too, have God’s Spirit.
