1 Corinthians 7:36-38
Legacy Standard Bible
36 But if any man thinks that he is acting unbecomingly toward his virgin daughter, if she is past her youth, and if it must be so, let him do what he wishes, he does not sin; let [a]her marry. 37 But he who stands firm in his heart, [b]being under no compulsion, but has authority [c]over his own will, and has decided this in his own heart, to keep his own virgin daughter, he will do well. 38 So then both he who gives his own virgin daughter in marriage does well, and he who does not give her in marriage will do better.

American Standard Version
36 But if any man thinketh that he behaveth himself unseemly toward his [a]virgin daughter, if she be past the flower of her age, and if need so requireth, let him do what he will; he sinneth not; let them marry. 37 But he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power as touching his own will, and hath determined this in his own heart, to keep his own [b]virgin daughter, shall do well. 38 So then both he that giveth his own [c]virgin daughter in marriage doeth well; and he that giveth her not in marriage shall do better.
