26 For [a]consider your (A)calling, brothers, that there were (B)not many wise according to [b]the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble. 27 But (C)God has chosen the foolish things of (D)the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of (E)the world to shame the things which are strong, 28 and the base things of (F)the world and the despised God has chosen, (G)the things that are not, so that He may (H)abolish the things that are, 29 so that (I)no flesh may boast before God. 30 But by His doing you are in (J)Christ Jesus, who became to us (K)wisdom from God, [c]and (L)righteousness and (M)sanctification, and (N)redemption, 31 so that, just as it is written, “(O)Let him who boasts, boast in the [d]Lord.”

God chose the weak things of the world to put to shame the things that are strong, 28 and God chose the lowly things of the world and the despised things, and[a] the things that are not, to do away with the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before God. 30 But because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us the wisdom from God, namely, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption. 31 God did this so that, just as it is written, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[b]
