33 for God is not a God of (A)confusion but of [a]peace, as in (B)all the churches of the (C)saints.
34 The women are to (D)keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but (E)are to subject themselves, just as (F)the Law also says. 35 But if they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church. 36 [b]Was it from you that the word of God first went forth? Or has it arrived to you only?

33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.[a]
34 Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says. 35 If they have any questions, they should ask their husbands at home, for it is improper for women to speak in church meetings.[b]
36 Or do you think God’s word originated with you Corinthians? Are you the only ones to whom it was given?
