1 Corinthians 10:6-10
New King James Version
6 Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as (A)they also lusted. 7 (B)And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, (C)“The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” 8 (D)Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as (E)some of them did, and (F)in one day twenty-three thousand fell; 9 nor let us [a]tempt Christ, as (G)some of them also tempted, and (H)were destroyed by serpents; 10 nor complain, as (I)some of them also complained, and (J)were destroyed by (K)the destroyer.

American Standard Version
6 Now [a]these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, [b]The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us make trial of the [c]Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
