1 Corinthians 10:6-10
New American Standard Bible
6 Now these things happened as (A)examples for us, so that we would not crave evil things as (B)they indeed craved them. 7 Do not be (C)idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “(D)The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to (E)play.” 8 Nor are we to commit sexual immorality, as (F)some of them [a]did, and (G)twenty-three thousand fell in one day. 9 Nor are we to put the Lord to the test, as (H)some of them [b]did, and were killed by the snakes. 10 Nor (I)grumble, as some of them [c]did, and (J)were killed by the (K)destroyer.

American Standard Version
6 Now [a]these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, [b]The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us make trial of the [c]Lord, as some of them made trial, and perished by the serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
