1 Corinthians 10:23-30

²³^(A)All things are permitted, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted, but not all things ^[a]^(B)build people up. ²⁴No one is to ^(C)seek his own advantage, but rather that of his ^[b]neighbor. ²⁵^(D)Eat anything that is sold in the meat market without asking questions, for the sake of conscience; ²⁶^(E)for the earth is the Lord’s, and ^[c]all it contains. ²⁷If ^(F)one of the unbelievers invites you and you want to go, ^(G)eat anything that is set before you without asking questions, for the sake of conscience. ²⁸But ^(H)if anyone says to you, “This is meat sacrificed to idols,” do not eat it, for the sake of that one who informed you and for the sake of conscience; ²⁹Now by “conscience” I do not mean your own, but the other person’s; for ^(I)why is my freedom judged by another’s conscience? ³⁰If I partake with thankfulness, ^(J)why am I slandered about that for which I ^(K)give thanks?

All to the Glory of God^(A)

²³All things are lawful ^[a]for me, but not all things are ^(B)helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things ^[b]edify. ²⁴Let no one seek his own, but each one ^(C)the other’s well-being.

²⁵^(D)Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake; ²⁶for ^(E)“the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”

²⁷If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, ^(F)eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake. ²⁸But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it ^(G)for the sake of the one who told you, and for conscience’ sake; ^[c]for ^(H)“the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.” ²⁹“Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For ^(I)why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience? ³⁰But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for the food ^(J)over which I give thanks?
