1 Corinthians 9:8-11
New English Translation
8 Am I saying these things only on the basis of common sense,[a] or does the law not say this as well? 9 For it is written in the law of Moses, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.”[b] God is not concerned here about oxen, is he? 10 Or is he not surely speaking for our benefit? It was written for us, because the one plowing and threshing ought to work in hope of enjoying the harvest. 11 If we sowed spiritual blessings among you, is it too much to reap material things from you?

8 Am I speaking these things (A)according to [a]human judgment? Or does not the Law also say these things? 9 For it is written in the Law of Moses, “(B)You shall not muzzle the ox while it is threshing.” Is God merely concerned about (C)oxen? 10 Or is He speaking altogether for our sake? Yes, (D)for our sake it was written, because (E)the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops. 11 (F)If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?

Doesn’t the Law say the same thing? 9 For it is written in the Law of Moses: “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.”[a](A) Is it about oxen that God is concerned?(B) 10 Surely he says this for us, doesn’t he? Yes, this was written for us,(C) because whoever plows and threshes should be able to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest.(D) 11 If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you?(E)
