39 A wife is bound for so long time as her husband liveth; but if the husband be [a]dead, she is free to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. 40 But she is happier if she abide as she is, after my judgment: and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.

39 A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives.(A) But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.(B) 40 In my judgment,(C) she is happier if she stays as she is—and I think that I too have the Spirit of God.
