²² For ^(A)as in Adam all die, so also in ^[a]Christ all will be made alive. ²³ But each in his own order: Christ ^(B)the first fruits, after that ^(C)those who are Christ’s at ^(D)His coming,

^42 (A)So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown ^[a](B)a perishable body, it is raised ^[b](C)an imperishable body;

⁴⁹ Just as we have ^(A)borne the image of the earthy, ^[a]we ^(B)will also bear the image of the heavenly.

The Mystery of Resurrection

⁵⁰ Now I say this, brothers and sisters, that ^(C)flesh and blood cannot ^(D)inherit the kingdom of God; nor does ^[b]the perishable inherit ^[c](E)the imperishable. ⁵¹ Behold, I am telling you a ^[d](F)mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be ^(G)changed, ⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for ^(H)the trumpet will sound, and ^(I)the dead will be raised ^[e]imperishable, and ^(J)we will be changed. ⁵³ For this ^[f]perishable must put on ^[g](K)the imperishable, and this ^(L)mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ But when this ^[h]perishable puts on ^[i]the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written: “^(M)Death has been swallowed up in victory.

¹⁰ that I may ^(A)know Him and ^(B)the power of His resurrection and ^[a](C)the fellowship of His sufferings, being ^(D)conformed to His death; ¹¹ if somehow I may ^(E)attain to the resurrection from the dead.

¹² Not that I have already ^[b](F)grasped it all or have already ^(G)become perfect, but I press on if I may also ^(H)take hold of that ^[c]for which I ^(I)was even taken hold of by ^(J)Christ Jesus. ¹³ Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: ^(K)forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, ¹⁴ I ^(L)press on toward the goal for the prize of the ^(M)upward call of God in ^(N)Christ Jesus.

²⁰ For ^(A)our ^[a]citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly ^(B)wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; ²¹ who will ^(C)transform the body of our lowly condition into ^(D)conformity with ^[b]His ^(E)glorious body, ^(F)by the exertion of the power that He has even to ^(G)subject all things to Himself.
