1 Corinthians 15:54-58

⁵⁴But when this deadly thing shall clothe undeadliness, then shall the word be done, that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory^[a].

⁵⁵Death, where is thy victory? Death, where is thy prick?

⁵⁶But the prick of death is sin; and the virtue of sin is the law.

⁵⁷But do we thankings to God [Forsooth thankings to God], that gave to us victory by our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵⁸Therefore, my dear-worthy brethren, be ye steadfast, and unmoveable, being plenteous in work of the Lord, evermore witting that your travail is not idle in the Lord.

⁵⁴When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”^[a]^(A)

⁵⁵“Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”^[b]^(B)

⁵⁶The sting of death is sin,^(C) and the power of sin is the law.^(D) ⁵⁷But thanks be to God!^(E) He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.^(F)

⁵⁸Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,^(G) because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.^(H)
