¹⁰ And do not grumble, as some of them did^(A)—and were killed^(B) by the destroying angel.^(C)

¹¹ These things happened to them as examples^(D) and were written down as warnings for us,^(E) on whom the culmination of the ages has come.^(F)

Spiritual Fullness in Christ

⁶ So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,^(A) continue to live your lives in him, ⁷ rooted^(B) and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught,^(C) and overflowing with thankfulness.

⁸ See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy,^(D) which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces^[a] of this world^(E) rather than on Christ.

⁹ For in Christ all the fullness^(F) of the Deity lives in bodily form, ¹⁰ and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head^(G) over every power and authority.^(H)

¹⁸ give thanks in all circumstances;^(A) for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

²⁰ always giving thanks^(A) to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ Let the peace of Christ^(A) rule in your hearts, since as members of one body^(B) you were called to peace.^(C) And be thankful. ¹⁶ Let the message of Christ^(D) dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom^(E) through psalms,^(F) hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.^(G)

²² But now he has reconciled^(A) you by Christ’s physical body^(B) through death to present you^(C) holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation^(D)—

¹³ When you were dead in your sins^(A) and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you^[a] alive^(B) with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,^(C)

² Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,^[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,^(A)

The Sheep and the Goats

³¹ “When the Son of Man comes^(A) in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.^{(B) 32} All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate^(C) the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.^(D)
