54 Now these are their settlements according to their camps within their borders. To the sons of Aaron of the families of the Kohathites (for the (A)lot was theirs first), 55 to them they gave (B)Hebron in the land of Judah, with its pasture lands all around it; 56 (C)but the fields of the city and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh. 57 (D)To the sons of Aaron they gave the following cities of refuge:

Hebron, Libnah also with its pasture lands, Jattir, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,
58 [a]Hilen with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,
59 [b]Ashan with its pasture lands, and Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands;
60 from the tribe of Benjamin:
Geba with its pasture lands, [c]Allemeth with its pasture lands, and Anathoth with its pasture lands.
All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.
61 (E)Now to the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, from the family of the tribe, from the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.
62 And to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, were given from the tribe of Issachar and from the tribe of Asher, the tribe of Naphtali, and the tribe of Manasseh, thirteen cities in Bashan.
63 (F)To the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, from the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad, and the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

64 (G)So the sons of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their pasture lands. 65 They also gave by lot from the tribe of the sons of Judah, the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, (H)these cities which are mentioned here by name.

66 (I)Now some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their territory from the tribe of Ephraim. 67 And they gave to them the following cities of refuge:

Shechem, with its pasture lands, in the hill country of Ephraim, and Gezer with its pasture lands,
68 Jokmeam with its pasture lands, Beth-horon with its pasture lands,
69 Aijalon with its pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands;
70 and from the half-tribe of Manasseh:
Aner with its pasture lands and Bileam with its pasture lands, for the family of the rest of the sons of Kohath.

71 To the sons of Gershom were given, from the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh:

Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands;
72 and from the tribe of Issachar:
Kedesh with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands,
73 and Ramoth with its pasture lands, Anem with its pasture lands;
74 and from the tribe of Asher:
Mashal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,
75 Hukok with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands;
76 and from the tribe of Naphtali:
Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands, Hammon with its pasture lands, and Kiriathaim with its pasture lands.

77 To the sons of Merari, the rest of the Levites, were given, from the tribe of Zebulun:

Rimmono with its pasture lands, Tabor with its pasture lands;
78 and beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them, from the tribe of Reuben:
Bezer in the wilderness with its pasture lands, Jahzah with its pasture lands,
79 Kedemoth with its pasture lands, and Mephaath with its pasture lands;
80 and from the tribe of Gad:
Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, Mahanaim with its pasture lands,
81 Heshbon with its pasture lands, and Jazer with its pasture lands.

54 These were the areas where Aaron’s descendants lived:[a]

The following belonged to the Kohathite clan, for they received the first allotment:[b]

55 They were allotted Hebron in the territory of Judah, as well as its surrounding pasturelands. 56 (But the city’s land and nearby towns were allotted to Caleb son of Jephunneh.) 57 The descendants of Aaron were also allotted as cities[c] of refuge Hebron, Libnah and its pasturelands, Jattir, Eshtemoa and its pasturelands, 58 Hilez[d] and its pasturelands, Debir and its pasturelands, 59 Ashan[e] and its pasturelands,[f] and Beth Shemesh and its pasturelands.

60 Within the territory of the tribe of Benjamin they were allotted[g] Geba and its pasturelands, Alemeth and its pasturelands, and Anathoth and its pasturelands. Their clans were allotted thirteen cities in all. 61 The rest of Kohath’s descendants were allotted ten cities in the territory of the half-tribe of Manasseh.[h]

62 The clans of Gershom’s descendants received thirteen cities within the territory of the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and Manasseh (in Bashan).[i]

63 The clans of Merari’s descendants were allotted twelve cities within the territory of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.[j]

64 So the Israelites gave to the Levites these cities and their pasturelands. 65 They allotted these previously named cities from the territory of the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.[k]

66 The clans of Kohath’s descendants also received cities as their territory within the tribe of Ephraim.[l] 67 They were allotted as cities[m] of refuge Shechem and its pasturelands (in the hill country of Ephraim), Gezer and its pasturelands, 68 Jokmeam and its pasturelands, Beth Horon and its pasturelands, 69 Aijalon and its pasturelands, and Gath Rimmon and its pasturelands.

70 Within the territory of the half-tribe of Manasseh, the rest of Kohath’s descendants received Aner and its pasturelands and Bileam and its pasturelands.[n]

71 The following belonged to Gershom’s descendants:[o]

Within the territory of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan and its pasturelands and Ashtaroth and its pasturelands.

72 Within the territory of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and its pasturelands, Daberath and its pasturelands, 73 Ramoth and its pasturelands, and Anem and its pasturelands.

74 Within the territory of the tribe of Asher: Mashal and its pasturelands, Abdon and its pasturelands, 75 Hukok and its pasturelands, and Rehob and its pasturelands.

76 Within the territory of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its pasturelands, Hammon and its pasturelands, and Kiriathaim and its pasturelands.
