21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach[a] to save those who believe.

21 For since in the wisdom of God the world(A) through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save(B) those who believe.(C)

13 And we impart this (A)in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, (B)interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.[a]
14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are (C)folly to him, and (D)he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom(A) but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.[a] 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God(B) but considers them foolishness,(C) and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
