⁵ you also, like living stones, are being built^(A) into a spiritual house^[a](B) to be a holy priesthood,^(C) offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.^(D)

¹² And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate^(A) to make the people holy^(B) through his own blood.^{(C) 13} Let us, then, go to him^(D) outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.^{(E) 14} For here we do not have an enduring city,^(F) but we are looking for the city that is to come.^(G)

¹⁵ Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice^(H) of praise—the fruit of lips^(I) that openly profess his name. ¹⁶ And do not forget to do good and to share with others,^(J) for with such sacrifices^(K) God is pleased.

A Living Sacrifice

12 Therefore, I urge you,^(A) brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,^(B) holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
