If I have the gift of prophecy(A) and can fathom all mysteries(B) and all knowledge,(C) and if I have a faith(D) that can move mountains,(E) but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor(F) and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[a](G) but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient,(H) love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.(I) It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,(J) it is not easily angered,(K) it keeps no record of wrongs.(L)
