1 Timothy 6:17-21

17 As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share, 19 thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life that really is life.
Personal Instructions and Benediction
20 Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid the profane chatter and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge; 21 by professing it some have missed the mark as regards the faith.
Grace be with you.[a]

17 Den Reichen in der jetzigen Weltzeit gebiete, nicht hochmütig zu sein, auch nicht ihre Hoffnung auf die Unbeständigkeit des Reichtums zu setzen, sondern auf den lebendigen Gott, der uns alles reichlich zum Genuss darreicht.
18 Sie sollen Gutes tun, reich werden an guten Werken, freigebig sein, bereit, mit anderen zu teilen,
19 damit sie das ewige Leben ergreifen und so für sich selbst eine gute Grundlage[a] für die Zukunft sammeln.
Abschließende Warnung vor den Irrlehren der »Gnosis«
20 O Timotheus, bewahre das anvertraute Gut, meide das unheilige, nichtige Geschwätz und die Widersprüche der fälschlich so genannten »Erkenntnis«[b]!
21 Zu dieser haben sich etliche bekannt und haben darüber das Glaubensziel verfehlt. Die Gnade sei mit dir! Amen.

17 A gazdagoknak, akik a mostani világban sok vagyonra tettek szert, mondd meg, hogy ne legyenek gőgösek, és ne a bizonytalan gazdagságban bízzanak! Sokkal inkább Istenben bízzanak, aki bőségesen megad mindent, amire szükségünk van. 18 Parancsold meg nekik, hogy a jó tettekben legyenek gazdagok! Legyenek nagylelkű adakozók, szívesen osszák meg másokkal, amijük van! 19 Ha ezt teszik, kincset gyűjtenek maguknak a Mennyben. Ez lesz a jövőjük biztos alapja, és képessé teszi őket, hogy megragadják a valóságos életet.
20 Timóteus, Isten sok dolgot bízott rád. Őrizd meg ezeket! Tartsd magad távol azoktól, akik ostoba dolgokat beszélnek, amelyek nem Istentől valók! Kerüld el azokat, akik az igazság ellen érvelnek! 17 Recommande à ceux qui possèdent des richesses en ce monde de se garder de toute arrogance et de ne pas fonder leur espoir sur la richesse, car elle est instable. Qu’ils placent leur espérance en Dieu, qui nous dispense généreusement toutes ses richesses pour que nous en jouissions. 18 Recommande-leur de faire le bien, d’être riches en œuvres bonnes, d’être généreux et de partager avec les autres. 19 Ils s’assureront ainsi pour l’avenir un beau capital placé en lieu sûr afin d’obtenir la vraie vie.

20 O Timothée, garde intact ce qui t’a été confié. Evite les discours creux et les arguments de ce que l’on appelle à tort « la connaissance », car ils sont contraires à la foi. 21 Pour s’y être attachés, plusieurs se sont égarés très loin de la foi. Que la grâce soit avec vous !
