The Great Mystery

¹⁴These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; ¹⁵but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ^[a]ground of the truth. ¹⁶And without controversy great is the ^[b]mystery of godliness:

^(A)God^[c] was manifested in the flesh,
^(B)Justified in the Spirit,
^(C)Seen by angels,
^(D)Preached among the Gentiles,
^(E)Believed on in the world,
^(F)Received up in glory.

The Great Apostasy

4 Now the Spirit ^[d]expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed ^(G)to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, ²^(H)speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience ^(I)seared with a hot iron, ³forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; ⁵for it is ^[e]sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
