I vescovi e i diaconi
3 (A)Certa è quest'affermazione: se uno aspira all'incarico di *vescovo, desidera un'attività lodevole. 2 Bisogna dunque che il vescovo sia irreprensibile, marito di una sola moglie, sobrio, prudente, dignitoso, ospitale, capace di insegnare, 3 non dedito al vino né violento, ma sia mite, non litigioso, non attaccato al denaro, 4 che governi bene la propria famiglia e tenga i figli sottomessi e pienamente rispettosi 5 (perché se uno non sa governare la propria famiglia, come potrà aver cura della chiesa di Dio? ), 6 che non sia convertito di recente, affinché non diventi presuntuoso e cada nella condanna inflitta al *diavolo. 7 Bisogna inoltre che abbia una buona testimonianza da quelli di fuori, perché non cada in discredito e nel laccio del diavolo.
8 (B)Allo stesso modo i *diaconi devono essere dignitosi, non doppi nel parlare, non propensi a troppo vino, non avidi di illeciti guadagni; 9 uomini che custodiscano il mistero della fede in una coscienza pura. 10 Anche questi siano prima provati; poi svolgano il loro servizio se sono irreprensibili. 11 Allo stesso modo siano le donne dignitose, non maldicenti, sobrie, fedeli in ogni cosa. 12 I diaconi siano mariti di una sola moglie, e governino bene i loro figli e le loro famiglie. 13 Perché quelli che hanno svolto bene il compito di diaconi, si acquistano un grado onorabile e una grande franchezza nella fede che è in Cristo Gesú.
Mistero della pietà
14 (C)Ti scrivo queste cose sperando di venir presto da te, 15 affinché tu sappia, nel caso che dovessi tardare, come bisogna comportarsi nella casa di Dio, che è la chiesa del Dio vivente, colonna e sostegno della verità. 16 Senza dubbio, grande è il mistero della pietà: Colui che è stato manifestato in carne, è stato giustificato nello Spirito, è apparso agli angeli, è stato predicato fra le nazioni, è stato creduto nel mondo, è stato elevato in gloria.

3 مَا أَصْدَقَ الْقَوْلَ إِنَّ مَنْ يَرْغَبُ فِي أَنْ يَكُونَ رَاعِياً فَإِنَّمَا يَتُوقُ إِلَى عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ. 2 إِذَنْ، يَجِبُ أَنْ يَكُونَ الرَّاعِي بِلا عَيْبٍ، زَوْجاً لامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، يَقِظاً عَاقِلاً مُهَذَّباً مِضْيَافاً، قَادِراً عَلَى التَّعْلِيمِ؛ 3 لَا مُدْمِناً لِلْخَمْرِ وَلا عَنِيفاً؛ بَلْ لَطِيفاً، غَيْرَ مُتَعَوِّدِ الْخِصَامِ، غَيْرَ مُولَعٍ بِالْمَالِ، 4 يُحْسِنُ تَدْبِيرَ بَيْتِهِ، وَيُرَبِّي أَوْلادَهُ فِي الْخُضُوعِ بِكُلِّ احْتِرَامٍ. 5 فَإِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ لَا يُحْسِنُ تَدْبِيرَ بَيْتِهِ، فَكَيْفَ يَعْتَنِي بِكَنِيسَةِ اللهِ؟ 6 وَيَجِبُ أَيْضاً أَنْ لَا يَكُونَ مُبْتَدِئاً فِي الإِيمَانِ، لِئَلَّا يَنْتَفِخَ تَكَبُّراً، فَيَقَعَ عَلَيْهِ عِقَابُ إِبْلِيسَ! 7 وَمِنَ الضَّرُورِيِّ أَنْ تَكُونَ لَهُ شَهَادَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ مِنَ الَّذِينَ فِي خَارِجِ الْكَنِيسَةِ، لِكَيْ لَا يَقَعَ فِي الْعَارِ وَفِي فَخِّ إِبْلِيسَ.
8 أَمَّا الْمُدَبِّرُونَ، فَيَجِبُ أَنْ يَكُونُوا أَيْضاً ذَوِي وَقَارٍ، لَا ذَوِي لِسَانَيْنِ، وَلا مُدْمِنِينَ لِلْخَمْرِ، لَا سَاعِينَ إِلَى الْمَكْسَبِ الْخَسِيسِ. 9 يَتَمَسَّكُونَ بِحَقَائِقِ الإِيمَانِ الْخَفِيَّةِ بِضَمِيرٍ نَقِيٍّ. 10 وَأَيْضاً يَجِبُ أَنْ يَتِمَّ اخْتِبَارُ الْمُدَبِّرِينَ أَوَّلاً، فَإِذَا تَبَيَّنَ أَنَّهُمْ بِلا لَوْمٍ، فَلْيُبَاشِرُوا خِدْمَةَ التَّدْبِيرِ. 11 كَذَلِكَ يَجِبُ أَنْ تَكُونَ النِّسَاءُ أَيْضاً رَزِينَاتٍ، غَيْرَ نَمَّامَاتٍ، يَقِظَاتٍ، أَمِينَاتٍ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ. 12 كَمَا يَجِبُ أَنْ يَكُونَ كُلُّ مُدَبِّرٍ زَوْجاً لامْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، يُحْسِنُ تَدْبِيرَ أَوْلادِهِ وَبَيْتِهِ. 13 فَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَقُومُونَ بِخِدْمَةِ التَّدْبِيرِ خَيْرَ قِيَامٍ، يَكْسِبُونَ لأَنْفُسِهِمْ مَكَانَةً جَيِّدَةً، وَجُرْأَةً كَبِيرَةً فِي الإِيمَانِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ!

14 هَذِهِ التَّوْصِيَاتُ أَكْتُبُهَا إِلَيْكَ، وَأَنَا أَرْجُو أَنْ آتِيَ إِلَيْكَ بِأَكْثَرِ سُرْعَةٍ، 15 حَتَّى إِذَا تَأَخَّرْتُ تَعْلَمُ كَيْفَ يَجِبُ التَّصَرُّفُ فِي بَيْتِ اللهِ، أَيْ كَنِيسَةِ اللهِ الْحَيِّ، رُكْنِ الْحَقِّ وَدُعَامَتِهِ. 16 وَبِاعْتِرَافِ الْجَمِيعِ، إِنَّ سِرَّ التَّقْوَى عَظِيمٌ: اللهُ ظَهَرَ فِي الْجَسَدِ، شَهِدَ الرُّوحُ لِبِرِّهِ، شَاهَدَتْهُ الْمَلائِكَةُ، بُشِّرَ بِهِ بَيْنَ الأُمَمِ، أُومِنَ بِهِ فِي الْعَالَمِ، ثُمَّ رُفِعَ فِي الْمَجْدِ.

Qualifications for Overseers and Deacons
3 Here is a trustworthy saying:(A) Whoever aspires to be an overseer(B) desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach,(C) faithful to his wife,(D) temperate,(E) self-controlled, respectable, hospitable,(F) able to teach,(G) 3 not given to drunkenness,(H) not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome,(I) not a lover of money.(J) 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect.(K) 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)(L) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited(M) and fall under the same judgment(N) as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders,(O) so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.(P)
8 In the same way, deacons[b](Q) are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine,(R) and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.(S) 10 They must first be tested;(T) and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
11 In the same way, the women[c] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers(U) but temperate(V) and trustworthy in everything.
12 A deacon must be faithful to his wife(W) and must manage his children and his household well.(X) 13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.
Reasons for Paul’s Instructions
14 Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, 15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church(Y) of the living God,(Z) the pillar and foundation of the truth. 16 Beyond all question, the mystery(AA) from which true godliness(AB) springs is great:
