A Good Servant of Christ Jesus

^6 (A)If you put these things before the brothers,^[a] you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have ^(B)followed.

¹⁶ Let ^(A)the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, ^(B)singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, ^(C)with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

The Day of the Lord Will Come

3 This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them ^(A)I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, ^2 (B)that you should remember the predictions of ^(C)the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles,

⁷ Show yourself in all respects to be ^(A)a model of good works, and in your teaching ^(B)show integrity, ^(C)dignity, ⁸ and ^(D)sound speech that cannot be condemned, ^(E)so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. ^9 (F)Bondservants^[a] are to be submissive to their own masters ^(G)in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, ¹⁰ not pilfering, ^(H)but showing all good faith, ^(I)so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

Teach Sound Doctrine

2 But as for you, teach what accords with ^(A)sound^[a] doctrine.

¹⁴ But as for you, ^(A)continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom^[a] you learned it ¹⁵ and how ^(B)from childhood you have been acquainted with ^(C)the sacred writings, ^(D)which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ^16 (E)All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ that ^(F)the man of God^[b] may be complete, ^(G)equipped ^(H)for every good work.

¹⁰ the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers,^[a] liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to ^(A)sound^[b] doctrine,

Final Greetings

⁷ Tychicus will tell you ^(A)all about my activities. He is a beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow servant^[a] in the Lord.

⁵ Now I want ^(A)to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that ^(B)Jesus, who saved^[a] a people out of the land of Egypt, ^(C)afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
