³ forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

^4 (A)Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; ^(B)but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;

⁶ He who ^(A)observes the day, observes it to the Lord; ^[a]and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for ^(B)he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

^3 (A)Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you ^(B)all things, even as the ^(C)green herbs.

¹⁶ So let no one ^(A)judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a ^[a]festival or a new moon or sabbaths,

³⁰ But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for the food ^(A)over which I give thanks?

^31 (B)Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

⁸ But ^(A)food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse.

²⁸ But even if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Nevertheless such will have trouble in the flesh, but I would spare you.

⁹ Do not be carried ^[a]about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.
