¹³ Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to ^[a]doctrine.

¹⁵ Speak these things, ^(A)exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

⁴ but we ^(A)will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

² Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. ^(A)Convince, ^(B)rebuke, ^(C)exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

¹⁶ Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

^15 (A)Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ¹⁶ But shun profane and ^[a]idle babblings, for they will ^[b]increase to more ungodliness. ¹⁷ And their message will spread like cancer. ^(B)Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort,

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

⁶ If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, ^(A)nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.

¹¹ These were more ^[a]fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and ^(A)searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

^39 (A)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and ^(B)these are they which testify of Me.

^8 (A)This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but ^(B)you^[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
