⁷ desiring to be teachers of the law, ^(A)without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.

^22 (A)Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

^12 (A)But these, like irrational animals, ^(B)creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed, blaspheming about matters of which they are ignorant, will also be destroyed in their destruction,

^4 (A)he is puffed up with conceit and ^(B)understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for ^(C)controversy and for ^(D)quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,

⁵ Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and ^(A)works miracles among you do so ^(B)by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—

¹⁰ For there are many who are insubordinate, ^(A)empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of ^(B)the circumcision party.^{[a] 11} They must be silenced, since ^(C)they are upsetting whole families by teaching ^(D)for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.

⁷ always learning and never able to ^(A)arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

² Let me ask you only this: ^(A)Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by ^(B)hearing with faith?

¹⁹ and if you are sure that you yourself are ^(A)a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law ^(B)the embodiment of ^(C)knowledge and truth— ^21 (D)you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach against stealing, do you steal?

³ I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that ^(A)he is obligated to keep the whole law. ⁴ You are ^(B)severed from Christ, ^(C)you who would be justified^[a] by the law; ^(D)you have fallen away from grace.
