Fight the Good Fight

¹⁸ This ^[a]charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

^14 (A)Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy ^(B)with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

Preach the Word

4 I ^(A)charge you ^[a]therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, ^(B)who will judge the living and the dead ^[b]at His appearing and His kingdom: ² Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. ^(C)Convince, ^(D)rebuke, ^(E)exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. ^3 (F)For the time will come when they will not endure ^(G)sound doctrine, ^(H)but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

Guard the Faith

²⁰ O Timothy! ^(A)Guard what was committed to your trust, ^(B)avoiding the profane and ^[a]idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—

Be Strong in Grace

2 You therefore, ^(A)my son, ^(B)be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. ² And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. ³ You therefore must ^(C)endure^[a] hardship ^(D)as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. ^4 (E)No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. ⁵ And also ^(F)if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. ^4 (A)For the weapons ^(B)of our warfare are not ^[a]carnal but ^(C)mighty in God ^(D)for pulling down strongholds,

¹² Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. ¹³ I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus ^(A)who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, ¹⁴ that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,

²² But you know his proven character, ^(A)that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.

^7 (A)I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
