⁸ But let us who are of the day be sober, ^(A)putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand. ^(A)Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and ^(B)let us put on the armor of light. ^13 (C)Let us walk ^[a]properly, as in the day, ^(D)not in revelry and drunkenness, ^(E)not in lewdness and lust, ^(F)not in strife and envy.

Living Before God Our Father

¹³ Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

^11 (A)Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the ^[a]wiles of the devil.

³⁵ Therefore do not cast away your confidence, ^(A)which has great reward. ^36 (B)For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, ^(C)you may receive the promise:

¹⁹ This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, ^(A)and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

¹³ And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

⁵ You are all ^(A)sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

⁷ But if we ^(A)walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and ^(B)the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
