¹² and may the Lord ^(A)make you increase and abound in love ^(B)for one another and for all, as we do for you, ¹³ so that he may ^(C)establish your hearts blameless in holiness before ^(D)our God and Father, at ^(E)the coming of our Lord Jesus ^(F)with all his saints.

A Life Pleasing to God

4 Finally, then, brothers,^[a] we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you ^(G)received from us ^(H)how you ought to walk and ^(I)to please God, just as you are doing, that you ^(J)do so more and more. ² For ^(K)you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. ³ For this is the will of God, ^(L)your sanctification:^{[b] (M)}that you abstain from sexual immorality; ⁴ that each one of you know how to control his own ^(N)body^[c] in holiness and ^(O)honor, ⁵ not in ^(P)the passion of lust ^(Q)like the Gentiles ^(R)who do not know God; ⁶ that no one transgress and ^(S)wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is ^(T)an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. ⁷ For ^(U)God has not called us for ^(V)impurity, but in holiness. ⁸ Therefore ^(W)whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, ^(X)who gives his Holy Spirit to you.
