En la tribu de Benjamín había un hombre llamado Quis, que era hijo de Abiel y nieto de Seror; su bisabuelo había sido Becorat, hijo de Afíah. Quis, hombre muy respetado, tenía un hijo, joven y bien parecido, que se llamaba Saúl. No había otro israelita tan bien parecido como él, pues en estatura ninguno le pasaba del hombro.

Samuel Anoints Saul

There was a Benjamite,(A) a man of standing,(B) whose name was Kish(C) son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bekorath, the son of Aphiah of Benjamin. Kish had a son named Saul, as handsome(D) a young man as could be found(E) anywhere in Israel, and he was a head taller(F) than anyone else.

Now the donkeys(G) belonging to Saul’s father Kish were lost, and Kish said to his son Saul, “Take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys.”

And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.
