¹⁸ And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord ^(A)will not hear you in that day.”

³⁷ So Saul ^(A)asked counsel of God, “Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will You deliver them into the hand of Israel?” But ^(B)He did not answer him that day.

¹¹ Therefore thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will surely bring calamity on them which they will not be able to ^[a]escape; and ^(A)though they cry out to Me, I will not listen to them.
