7 Porém Samuel ainda não conhecia o Senhor, e ainda não lhe tinha sido manifestada a palavra do Senhor. 8 O Senhor, pois, tornou a chamar a Samuel, terceira vez, e ele se levantou, e foi a Eli, e disse: Eis-me aqui, porque tu me chamaste. Então, entendeu Eli que o Senhor chamava o jovem. 9 Pelo que Eli disse a Samuel: Vai-te deitar, e há de ser que, se te chamar, dirás: Fala, Senhor, porque o teu servo ouve. Então, Samuel foi e se deitou no seu lugar.

7 Now Samuel did not yet know(A) the Lord: The word(B) of the Lord had not yet been revealed(C) to him.
8 A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”
Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him.
8 And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child.
9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
