⁹ And Achish answered David and said, “I know that you are as blameless in my sight ^(A)as an angel of God. Nevertheless, ^(B)the commanders of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us to the battle.’

^27 (A)He has slandered your servant to my lord the king. But my lord the king is ^(B)like the angel of God; do therefore what seems good to you.

²⁰ In order to change the course of things your servant Joab did this. But my lord has wisdom like the wisdom of ^(A)the angel of God to know all things that are on the earth.”

¹⁷ And your servant thought, ‘The word of my lord the king will set me at rest,’ for my lord the king is ^(A)like the angel of God to discern good and evil. The Lord your God be with you!”

¹⁴ and though my condition was a trial to you, you did not scorn or despise me, but received me ^(A)as an angel of God, ^(B)as Christ Jesus.

⁴ But ^(A)the commanders of the Philistines were angry with him. And the commanders of the Philistines said to him, “Send the man back, that he may return ^(B)to the place to which you have assigned him. He shall not go down with us to battle, ^(C)lest in the battle he become an adversary to us. For how could this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? Would it not be with the heads of the men here?
