2 And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever.
3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa.

2 David said to Achish, “Very well, you shall know what your servant can do.” And Achish said to David, “Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life.”
3 Now (A)Samuel had died, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him (B)in Ramah, his own city. And Saul had put (C)the mediums and the necromancers out of the land. 4 The Philistines assembled and came and encamped (D)at Shunem. And Saul gathered all Israel, and they encamped (E)at Gilboa.

3 Para entonces ya Samuel había muerto, y todos en Israel habían llorado su muerte, después de lo cual lo habían enterrado en Ramá, su ciudad natal. Saúl, por su parte, había expulsado del país a los adivinos y a los que invocaban a los muertos.
4 Los filisteos se reunieron y fueron a establecer su campamento en Sunem, y Saúl juntó a todo Israel y tomó posiciones en Guilboa.
