32 You will see trouble in my house. Good things will be done to Israel. But there will never be an old man in your family. 33 I will save one man to serve as priest at my altar. He will wear out his eyes and use up his strength. The rest of your descendants will die by the sword.
34 “‘I will give you a sign. Both your sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will die on the same day.

New International Version
32 and you will see distress(A) in my dwelling. Although good will be done to Israel, no one in your family line will ever reach old age.(B) 33 Every one of you that I do not cut off from serving at my altar I will spare only to destroy your sight and sap your strength, and all your descendants(C) will die in the prime of life.
34 “‘And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign(D) to you—they will both die(E) on the same day.(F)
