Pero otra vez el espíritu maligno de parte del Señor volvió a atacar a Saúl, y mientras Saúl estaba descansando en su casa y David tocaba el arpa, Saúl tenía una lanza a su alcance. 10 De pronto, Saúl tomó la lanza y la arrojó, con la intención de atravesar con ella a David, pero éste la esquivó y la lanza quedó clavada en la pared. Esa misma noche David escapó de morir y huyó.

11 Saúl envió mensajeros a casa de David para que lo vigilaran y lo mataran al amanecer,(A) pero Mical, su mujer, le advirtió:

«Si no te pones a salvo esta noche, mañana serás hombre muerto.»

Y el espíritu malo de parte de Jehová vino sobre Saúl; y estando sentado en su casa tenía una lanza a mano, mientras David estaba tocando. 10 Y Saúl procuró enclavar a David con la lanza a la pared, pero él se apartó de delante de Saúl, el cual hirió con la lanza en la pared; y David huyó, y escapó aquella noche.

11 Saúl envió luego mensajeros a casa de David para que lo vigilasen, y lo matasen a la mañana.(A) Mas Mical su mujer avisó a David, diciendo: Si no salvas tu vida esta noche, mañana serás muerto.

But once again an evil spirit from the Lord entered Saul. He was sitting in his house, and he had his spear in his hand. David was playing the harp. 10 Saul tried to pin David to the wall with his spear. But David moved away from him. So Saul’s spear went into the wall. And David ran away that night.

11 Saul sent men to David’s house. They watched it, wanting to kill him in the morning. But Michal, David’s wife, warned him. She said, “Tonight you must run away to save your own life. If you don’t, you will be killed tomorrow morning.”

But an evil[a] spirit(A) from the Lord came on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand. While David was playing the lyre,(B) 10 Saul tried to pin him to the wall with his spear, but David eluded(C) him as Saul drove the spear into the wall. That night David made good his escape.

11 Saul sent men to David’s house to watch(D) it and to kill him in the morning.(E) But Michal, David’s wife, warned him, “If you don’t run for your life tonight, tomorrow you’ll be killed.”
