18 Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, ^(A)the ^[a]soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, ^(B)and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

¹⁷ Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; ^(A)for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

² that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, ^[a]both of the Father and of Christ,
