23 For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and (A)idolatry.Because (B)you have rejected the word of the Lord, (C)he has also rejected you from being king.”
28 And Samuel said to him, (A)“The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbour of yours, who is better than you.
13 However, (A)I will not tear away all the kingdom, but (B)I will give one tribe to your son, for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, (C)which I have chosen.”
34 Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes.
