¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, ^(A)“You have done foolishly. ^(B)You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. ^14 (C)But now your kingdom shall not continue. ^(D)The Lord has sought for Himself a man ^(E)after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have ^(F)not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

^21 (A)And afterward they asked for a king; so God gave them ^(B)Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. ²² And ^(C)when He had removed him, ^(D)He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ^(E)‘I have found David the son of Jesse, ^(F)a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’
