Ori de câte ori se ducea Ana la Casa Domnului, ea o necăjea în felul acesta, iar Ana plângea şi nu mânca nimic. 8 Atunci Elkana, bărbatul ei, îi spunea: „Ana, de ce plângi şi nu mănânci şi de ce îţi este mâhnită inima? Oare nu preţuiesc eu pentru tine mai mult decât zece fii?“
