Israel Defeats the Philistines

7 Then the men of ^(A)Kirjath Jearim came and took the ark of the Lord, and brought it into the house of ^(B)Abinadab on the hill, and ^(C)consecrated Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the Lord.

⁵ So ^(A)David gathered all Israel together, from ^(B)Shihor in Egypt to as far as the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God ^(C)from Kirjath Jearim. ⁶ And David and all Israel went up to ^(D)Baalah,^[a] to Kirjath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God the Lord, ^(E)who dwells between the cherubim, where His name is proclaimed. ⁷ So they ^[b]carried the ark of God ^(F)on a new cart ^(G)from the house of Abinadab, and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.

² And ^(A)David arose and went with all the people who were with him from ^[a]Baale Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called ^[b]by the Name, the Lord of Hosts, ^(B)who dwells between the cherubim. ³ So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on ^(C)the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new ^[c]cart. ⁴ And they brought it out of ^(D)the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, accompanying the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark.

²¹ So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of ^(A)Kirjath Jearim, saying, “The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord; come down and take it up with you.”

¹⁴ Then the border extended around the west side to the south, from the hill that lies before Beth Horon southward; and ^[a]it ended at ^(A)Kirjath Baal (which is Kirjath Jearim), a city of the children of Judah. This was the west side.
