¹⁹ Then ^(A)He struck the men of Beth Shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord. ^[a]He ^(B)struck fifty thousand and seventy men of the people, and the people lamented because the Lord had struck the people with a great slaughter.

^20 (A)But they shall not go in to watch while the holy things are being covered, lest they die.”

²¹ And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, lest they break through ^(A)to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish.

⁷ Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his ^[a]error; and he died there by the ark of God.

¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then ^(A)the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; ^(B)but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.

“^(C)These are the things in the tabernacle of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.

¹⁸ Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has ^[a]not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

¹⁷ For the time has come ^(A)for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, ^(B)what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

⁹ And when they came to ^[a]Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen ^[b]stumbled. ¹⁰ Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzza, and He struck him ^(A)because he put his hand to the ark; and he ^(B)died there before God.

²⁹ “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

^4 (A)“This is the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of meeting, relating to ^(B)the most holy things: ⁵ When the camp prepares to journey, Aaron and his sons shall come, and they shall take down ^(C)the covering veil and cover the ^(D)ark of the Testimony with it.
