² When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of ^(A)Dagon^[a] and set it by Dagon.

Samson Dies with the Philistines

²³ Now the lords of the Philistines gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to ^(A)Dagon their god, and to rejoice. And they said:

^23 (A)And you have ^[a]lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the ^(B)vessels of ^[b]His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, ^(C)which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand ^(D)and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

^10 (A)Then they put his armor in the ^[a]temple of their gods, and fastened his head in the temple of Dagon.

² While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the gold and silver vessels ^(A)which his ^[a]father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from them.
