²⁰ David also captured all the flocks and herds, which were driven ahead of the other cattle; people said, “This is David’s spoil.”^(A)

²⁶ When David came to Ziklag, he sent part of the spoil to his friends, the elders of Judah, saying, “Here is a present for you from the spoil of the enemies of the Lord.”

³⁷ No, in all these things we are more than victorious through him who loved us.^(A)

²⁵ When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take the spoil from them, they found livestock^[a] in great numbers, goods, clothing, and precious things, which they took for themselves until they could carry no more. They spent three days taking the spoil because of its abundance.
