⁹ Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ^(A)‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’ ” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

¹⁹ Then they said to Moses, ^(A)“You speak with us, and we will hear; but ^(B)let not God speak with us, lest we die.”

⁸ Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:

Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

⁶ So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”

Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

^19 (A)And he said, “O man greatly beloved, ^(B)fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!”

So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
