¹⁸ Then Samuel told him everything, and hid nothing from him. And he said, ^(A)“It is the Lord. Let Him do what seems good to Him.”

⁸ So Hezekiah said to Isaiah, ^(A)“The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good!” For he said, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days.”

¹⁰ But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. ^(A)Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” ^(B)In all this Job did not ^(C)sin with his lips.

⁶ Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

²¹ And he said:

¹⁵ And the children of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned! ^(A)Do to us whatever seems best to You; only deliver us this day, we pray.”

¹⁰ But the king said, ^(A)“What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because ^(B)the Lord has said to him, ‘Curse David.’ ^(C)Who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’ ”

¹¹ And David said to Abishai and all his servants, “See how ^(D)my son who ^(E)came from my own body seeks my life. How much more now may this Benjamite? Let him alone, and let him curse; for so the Lord has ordered him. ¹² It may be that the Lord will look on ^[a]my affliction, and that the Lord will ^(F)repay me with ^(G)good for his cursing this day.”
