¹⁵ Samuel lay until morning; then he opened the doors of the house of the Lord. And Samuel was afraid to tell the vision to Eli.

⁶ Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, ^(A)I do not know how to speak, ^(B)for I am only a youth.” ⁷ But the Lord said to me,

^10 (A)When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for ^(B)he is doing ^(C)the work of the Lord, as I am. ¹¹ So ^(D)let no one despise him. ^(E)Help him on his way ^(F)in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.

^10 (A)Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord of hosts, ^(B)and I will not accept an offering from your hand.

⁹ After they had eaten and drunk in Shiloh, Hannah rose. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat beside the doorpost of ^(A)the temple of the Lord.
